No, our Part-Time Pros never pay us anything for our services (all of our fees are paid by employers). We require that you complete an on-line application and we will request a face-to-face interview prior to submitting your resume to any employer.
Yes, our business model is similar to a staffing agency, but our differences are as follows:
Step 1: Read our FAQs for Job Seekers.
Step 2: Create a resume if you do not already have one.
Step 3: Complete our on-line application and attach your resume- please do not try to e-mail recruiter or managers directly, this will only slow down your application process.
Once you’ve completed the on-line application, we will have the preliminary information we need from you. If we need additional information from you or if we identify a potential position for you, we will be in touch. If we get close to a potential match, you’ll be asked to come into our office for a face to face interview, submit references, and sign some additional documents.
The best thing to keep in mind is that the number of professionals in our database will always be greater than the number of positions employers have asked us to work on. That is the nature of this type of business. The difference in numbers is especially true for our niche of part-time, given the fact that there is a much higher demand for part-time on the part of professionals than on the part of employers. If you are serious about landing a job, Part-Time Pros should be one of many places where you submit your resume.
Although we do not provide resume writing as a service, we do have connections with companies who can. Please feel free to contact our office for a list of these connections.
It depends on the situation. We let the professional and the employer work out the type of arrangement that is most suitable for them. Some employers choose to hire a professional directly while others may chose to have them as a Part-Time Pros employee for a “test” period to ensure it is a good fit. In addition, we place many professionals in contract positions which may be for a few weeks up to a few years. In these situations we typically have them as a Part-Time Pros employee. We provide full payroll services for clients and professionals.
Yes, we would never submit your resume to an employer without first discussing a position with you and getting your approval, unless you have directed us to do different. If the employer is interested in your qualifications, we then coordinate the meeting between you and the employer. In addition, we sometimes do not receive feedback from clients regarding why they are interested or not interested in some resumes. We will attempt to get as much feedback as possible but oftentimes this is impossible.
Whether an employer offer benefits will depend on the employer's particular policies; some employers offer benefits for employees who work less than full-time and some don’t.
References are only secured once you come in for a face to face interview. We ask for a minimum of 3 professional references. We urge all professionals to contact references prior to us contacting them to notify them that we will be calling because we will call them within 48 hours of you coming in to interview with us. It is a poor reflection on you when your references say something along the lines of “Oh, I did not know he/she was looking for work or I wonder why they listed me as a reference”. If professional’s references are negative, it is highly unlikely that the professional will get an “active” status in our database. At Part-Time Pros our people are the product so we must do our due diligence to screen professionals to the best of our ability.
